Dee Dee Lawton has been teaching music to young children for the last 16 years. She was greatly influenced by her musician mom, and enjoys playing guitar, singing and writing.
Dee Dee studied piano and flute as a child and then went on to
Berklee College of Music in Boston to receive her degree. She later studied early childhood development at Alfred University in New York. She studied acting in New York for three years and enjoyed performing her own work in small theatres.
Dee Dee has been a licensed Kindermusik educator for the last seven years. She teaches her own classes at The Community Learning Center at St. James in the Richmond District of San Francisco. She has been part of the the maestro program for Kindermusik International, representing the top 5% Kindermusik programs in the country.
She spends weekends up in Cobb Mountain where she will be offering a new Kindermusik program in Hidden Valley Lake, CA.
She also enjoys being the music teacher at St. James Preschool and two other schools in the Bay Area.
Dee Dee teaches private and group piano lessons to her Kindermusik graduates and new students.
It is a true joy for Dee Dee to work with children and parents through music and movement.
